Out with the McDonald’s, in with the BabyCakes?

It’s true! It’s true!

Erin McKenna of BabyCares NYC fame announced earlier this week that BabyCakes now has a home in downtown Disney. Personally, I can’t say I’ve had Disney on my “to visit” list, but if I do find myself there BabyCakes will be my first stop without a doubt.

Plus, it seems the lovely little vegan bakery walked into the house of mouse soon after the restaurant run by a clown was shipped out. Isn’t that just the icing on the cake?

Yes, I had to say it.

It’s funny, it post-dates all my younger Disney World experiences, but I’ve been reading for years on the vegan internets about *how* vegan-friendly and miraculous Disney World restaurants can be: http://vegansatori.blogspot.com/2009/11/vegan-in-walt-disney-world-2.html

    There’s even a (vegetarian) book?!? http://www.mouseplanet.com/dtp/wdwrr/issues/vegetarian.htm

    Weird, but great?

In some ways I’m not surprised since I assume Disney would be careful in considering plenty of dietary restrictions, especially for religious reasons, for their visitors. I just can’t say I like other things they do or have done in the past. In my mind, Pixar is keeping that company alive right now in terms of creativity.
