Vegan Travel | A Vegetarian Play in Vietnam?
Ever since I went vegan, and perhaps even before that, I’ve seen a bunch of movies and documentaries related to vegetarianism/veganism and its connection to the environment, animal rights, etc. However, up until earlier this week, I don’t think I had ever seen a pro-veg play, and I know I had never seen one performed in Vietnamese. Needless to say, I was intrigued when my partner mentioned it, and I’m happy I got a chance to attend even if I didn’t know what was happening.
Thankfully, she explained it to me later, so I could give you an idea of just what Cống Phẩm Dâng Thịt presented as a message to those in the audience and during the weekend that it was performed here in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
More importantly, I think it helps to show that activists are working to create change in all parts of the world, and it’s important that none of us (especially those in the West) approach international activism as if we’re the only ones with the answer. In most cases, the locals know the best way to see positive results, and listening and learning from them can often prove beneficial to everyone.
